So, what’s this all about?
Well, I am rapidly approaching an early retirement and I thought I would share my thoughts, problems and solutions along the way. It’s time to move on to new things.
At the time of writing (June 2021), I am just over 2 years from retirement - actually, let’s be exact on this - I am 135 weeks from my planned retirement date.
And, before you ask, I will be retiring earlier, but not as early as I had hoped or wanted.
A bit about me
For the past 30+ years, I have worked as a scientist and a university teacher. I have also been a geek — that is, I am into computing and computers.
What will I be covering here?
To be honest - I have no idea! If I had to guess:
Financials - no doubt I will be covering some things on pensions - problem and pitfalls - and what is not working
Health - hopefully, not too much on this - but you never know!
Planning - why retire? Planning for the future? Future proofing
Random stuff - there is always some random stuff out there…
